mpl-largeSince 2002, Minnesota Prairie Line (MPL) has been the operator of the 94 mile line.  MPL is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Twin Cities & Western railroad locally based in Glencoe, Minnesota.  MPL serves some of the most productive agricultural counties of Minnesota.  The MPL operates through twelve communities, provides rail service to seventeen customers, has 175 covered hopper cars and two locomotives.

 

Commodities handled include: corn, soybeans, distillers dry grain (DDG’s), fertilizer, ethanol, butter, lumber, canned vegetables, biodiesel, tallow, salt (commercial & industrial), aggregates, and rail car storage.

 

Over the past years, MPL has assisted with reducing congestion on the highways.
